CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Welcome to the 29th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-29)! The HICSS Conference is an annual forum for the presentation and discussion of refereed papers in selected areas of system sciences. Topics covered in this year's conference are Digital Documents, Information Systems, and Software Technology. HICSS is sponsored by the University of Hawaii and the College of Business Administration.

Maui High Performance Computing Center

The Maui High Performance Computing Center (MHPCC) is proud to sponsor the email room at the HICSS-29 conference, sharing some of its high band width communications capabilities with conference participants. The MHPCC is also offering tours of its facility during the HICSS-29 conference. The tours are scheduled for 3pm Wednesday, January 3, and 10am on Friday, January 5. Space is limited, so please sign up at the conference registration desk.

The MHPCC is dedicated to providing a world-wide community of Department of Defense, government, business, and educational users with advanced high performance computing hardware, software, communications, education, and support services. The MHPCC is one of the Department of Defense's largest computer resources as well as one of the most powerful computing centers in the world. Established on Maui in 1993, a core mission of the MHPCC is to support the US Air Force Maui Space Surveillance Site on Mount Haleakala. The MHPCC is managed by the University of New Mexico under a cooperative agreement with the US Air Force Phillips Laboratory.

The MHPCC is a major testbed for high performance computing technologies with a 480-node installation of IBM RS/6000 Scalable POWERparallel System. In addition, the MHPCC offers SGI Onyx and Indigo 2 computers for high-end graphics and is implementing new high performance storage system technologies. The MHPCC also offers comprehensive parallel programming workshops and education programs on Maui, throughout Hawaii, on the Mainland, and abroad.
