With increasing use of small portable computers, wireless networks and satellites, a trend to support "computing on move" has emerged. This trend has been termed as Mobile Computing, which really implies that a user may not maintain a fixed position in the network. However the mobile user still expects an unterrupted network access and the ability to run some networked applications. In this environment, a user is free to roam from one place to the other. To support such mobility, a mobile user is typically provided a wireless interface to communicate with other fixed and mobile users. These issues have generated a lot of discussion and interests among researchers, developers, managers and other systems professionals. This proposed minitrack will foucs on several important issues in mobile computing.
