The papers for this minitrack deal with one or more of these areas:

Impacts of information systems and technologies on the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs and operations
Impacts of information systems and technologies on the relationships between governments and citizens
Core policy issue areas involving governmental use of information and technology, including privacy, access rights, and security for government systems
IT investment planning and decision making – models and new insights
Impact of information systems and technology on knowledge sharing and development in government
Strategies for development, implementation, maintenance, and overhaul of government transaction processing and information systems
Strategies for integrating systems to support the interorganizational components of eGovernment

Topics include but are not limited to:

Inter- and intra-governmental information systems: scope and limitations

Mobile Informatics, Research Concerning Mobile Information Technology Use

Use of IT in organizations as well as mundane use of IT is changing towards increased mobility. Over the years we have seen the technology that supports communication and IT use in mobile settings maturing to a level where it is possible to provide advanced services to the mobile user. We’d like to encourage the submission of papers that focus on this vocational and mundane use of mobile technology within areas such as:

Supporting the Collaboration among Mobile Professionals - Research on how networked mobile information technology supports mobile professionals.
Mobile CSCL - Papers addressing areas such as models, activities and methods, as well as applications and systems supporting collaborative learning for mobile people.
Event Informatics - Papers concerned with augmenting audience experiences and developing new IT-support and information sources.
Mobile Media - Research papers concerning the technical development of mobile IT and the media convergence trends that are the basis for the emerging field of mobile media.
IT support for the disabled - Research exploring future and current use of mobile devices within the disabled community and how to draw general design implications from design for disabled.
Youth and mobile technology - Papers that investigate the use of mobile technology among teenagers.
Converging mobile technologies - Research concerning the convergence of mobile technologies such as PDAs and mobile telephones as well as the convergence of stationary ideas and mobile technology.
Other studies within the field of mobile informatics.

We are also inviting research that clearly is in the field, but that may not fall directly under the above-mentioned topics.

Non Traditional Computer Support for Design and User Evaluation

This minitrack will address the need for additional and non-traditional measures of performance for evaluating the anticipated progress as people use interactive computer systems. We seek papers describing empirical studies, field studies or cases studies of Non Traditional Computer Support for Design and User Evaluation in Education

These may include but are not limited to the following topics:

Frameworks and methodologies for user interface design and development
Novel methods for obtaining user requirements
Use of existing data from other domains (sociological, demographic, market analysis; cognitive and social psychology) in product design and evaluation
Use of field research methods
Evaluation of strategies for expert reviews and usability testing
Utility of preference and performance measures
Validation of surveys and metrics
Web-based remote testing
