Special rates are available January 1-15, 2009 on any island in Hawaii (except the conference period of January 5-8, 2009 on the Big Island only)

Accommodations

For trips and excursions for your guests while at the conference we suggest the American Express Travel Desk at the hotel, or we also highly recommend the services of Aloha Holidays http://www.alohaholidayshawaii.com. The Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort is our conference venue.  A reservation at our special conference rate will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis only to registered HICSS participants and their accompanying guests.  In order to be guaranteed our low rates, you must use the HICSS special code (Group/Convention Code) that will be provided in your confirmation receipt after you have registered the conference. Therefore, we ask you to register for the conference before making your hotel reservation.

More than 700 individuals from throughout the world are expected to join HICSS each year.   Because January is a particularly busy tourist season in Hawaii, we encourage you to confirm your travel plans as soon as your paper is accepted in August or September, or sooner if your intention to attend is firm.  If you need a visa, please also be aware of the time constraints and requirements for that process.  (Conference registration may be cancelled by October 15 without penalty, but papers will be withdrawn from the Proceedings when registration is cancelled.)

Need a roommate? Please forward information about your travel dates and rooming preferences to hicss@hawaii.edu . We will add your name to an email list that is circulated to everyone on the list, as new names are added. It is up to the individuals to connect with each other, and let us know when they have made a "match."

Family and Guest Activities. HICSS guests are invited to join you for lunch and the Thursday evening Luau. Please complete a Guest Registration Form and fax to 808-956-5759 or email hicss@hawaii.edu. There are many activities for all ages and Hawaiian cultural events on the hotel grounds that can be arranged through the Concierge Desk on site http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com/activities/index.asp.
