Track: Collaboration Systems and Technology
Minitrack: Concepts, Methods, and Tools for Collaborative IS
--------------- Development
Extensive division of labor is a common approach to address the growing complexity of IS development processes. Particularly, global offshoring and other inter-organizational arrangements lead to an increasing degree of spatial distribution of tasks, resulting in a need for specific process coordination mechanisms and corresponding methodological and tool support.
This track encourages a comprehensive and pluralistic perspective and comprises both design and behavioral science. While design-oriented approaches build methods and tools that support the coordination of collaborative IS development, behavioral research is required both to lay the conceptual foundations for developing new approaches as well as for evaluating and explaining the resulting methods and tools.
Topics and research areas include, but are not limited to:
* Coordination mechanism for different collaborative IS development contingencies
* Concepts, methods, and tools to support coordination in different IS development scenarios
* Concepts, methods, and tools for specific IS development disciplines and issues in collaborative scenarios
* Agile vs. structured approaches to collaborative, distributed IS development
