Minitrack:
E-Government Foundations and Methods

The advent of e-Government has sparked debates across the world on its social, political, and economic consequences. Despite certain rhetoric on the changes envisioned, it is as yet unclear to what extent this kind of initiative can help provide solutions to the problems of public organizations, citizens, enterprises, or other interested parties. In such a complex and multifaceted scenario, it is essential that research verifies and critically scrutinizes everything that the current discourse tends to consider an undisputable truth. If this does not happen, the risk is that our view of the reality becomes misleading, leading to interpretive errors and even actual illusions. In brief, the Minitrack proposes to garner reflective contributions from researchers interested in the foundations of e-Government, in the belief that a higher level of knowledge and a solid conceptual framework can not only benefit the research, but also better inform management practice.

Topics and research areas include, but are not limited to:
* Methodological and epistemological challenges in e-Government research
* Design Science in e-Government research
* Inter- versus multi-disciplinary e-Government research
* Epistemologies in e-Government research
* E-Government, Public Management Information Systems and Information Systems research: breakage or continuity?
* Theory building in e-Government
* Critical Management Studies and e-Government research
* Organization theory and e-Government theory
* Social studies of ICT and e-Government research
